67th National Film Awards 2019: Asuran to Viswasam, Tamil movies that won | Tamil Movie News

The jury of the 67th National Film Awards today announced the list of winners from the Hindi and regional movies, with popular names taking home the most prestigious award. Several Tamil movies bagged honours at the 67th National Film Awards announced on Monday. After being snubbed at the country’s prestigious event after 26 years at the National Film Awards last year, there a few expected winners from Tamil film industry this year.

The Best Tamil Film was announced as director Vetrimaaran’s ‘Asuran‘ and interestingly the film’s lead actor Dhanush also won the Best Actor Award, which is shared with Manoj Bajpayee. While music composer D Imman won the award for his songs for Ajith starrer ‘Viswasam‘ directed by Siva, Naga Vishal won the Best Child Artiste awards for his role in ‘KD Engira Karuppu Durai’. Actor Vijay Sethupathi won the Special Mention Award for his role in ‘Super Deluxe’ directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja.

While director and actor Parthiban’s ‘Oththa Seruppu’ won the Special Mention Awards, the film’s sound engineer Resul Pookutty won the National Award for Best Audiography for the film.
