Bare-All Fashion Was The Biggest Trend On The iHeartRadio Awards Red Carpet

(Photo by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images for iHeartMedia) Less than a week after the Billboard Music Awards, the biggest names in music convened on the red carpet once again, this time for the 2021 iHeartRadio Awards. And just like on Sunday — when Megan Fox, SZA, and Doja Cat debuted cut-out looks — attendees weren’t afraid to show off some skin for Thursday night’s occasion. This time around, in addition to the cut-out trend, there were also naked dresses, deep V-necks, ab-baring two-pieces, and more. Arguably the most revealing look of all was the first of three that Doja Cat wore for the evening. On the red carpet, the “Kiss Me More” singer walked in a sage green, silk-chiffon gown with an attached cape from Brandon Maxwell’s fall ‘20 collection that was completely see-through. Underneath the ethereal look, she wore a matching pair of underwear briefs. Doja’s on-stage look was also sheer, though in a more subtle way, while her final outfit was a complete 360 — a Miu Miu cocktail dress covered in cat illustrations and bows. (Photo by Emma McIntyre/Getty Images for iHeartMedia) Megan Thee Stallion, who took home the award for Best Collaboration for “Savage,” which she recorded with Beyoncé, wore an equally sexy dress for the show. To celebrate her eight nominations — the most of any recording artist in 2021 — the Grammy winner dressed for the trophies she wanted, in a gold, one-shoulder mini dress by Bryan Hearns. The custom dress featured a large, mesh-covered cut-out, and was paired with Levian jewelry and matching strappy sandals. Lil Nas X and Demi Lovato opted for suits, though neither would be safe for work. The “Old Town Road” singer chose an iridescent silver suit — which he wore without a shirt — from Selam Fessahaye, a white Telfar bag, and matching platform boots. Meanwhile, Lovato, with the help of stylist Siena Montesano, chose a purple, velvet suit from Dundas’ fall ‘20 collection. Like Lil Nas X, she went sans shirt, choosing instead to cover up in diamonds by Graziela Gems and Effy Jewelry. Given that party dress season is approaching, we’re expecting there to be plenty more revealing red carpet looks where these came from, to which, we say, bring it on. Like what you see? The Midnight Club release date confirmed for 2022

Published

on

Who’s ready for more horror on Netflix? The streamer has stepped up its game in the spooky genre this year alone, releasing the Fear Street trilogy, Squid Game, Oxygen and Mike Flanagan‘s Midnight Mass, just to name a few popular titles.

2022 might just be big year for horror on the platform, too, as we just got confirmation another exciting show will be making its debut.

Flanagan’s next project, The Midnight Club, will premiere sometime in 2022, Netflix has confirmed today. The horror show is based on a Young Adult book of the same name by Christopher Pike, which means we’ll be getting a bit of a different tone from the filmmaker’s previous works.

Netflix shared a list of 2022 releases on their @NetflixGeeked account, including highly-anticipated releases like The Umbrella Academy season 3, The Sandman and Vikings: Valhalla. Along with the year confirmation, the streamer shared some synopses for their upcoming releases to get fans hyped.

The Midnight Club synopsis

Unfortunately for Flanagan fans, Netflix kept their description very short for The Midnight Club, simply writing in a tweet: “A new horror series from Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass) based on the creative works of bestselling author Christopher Pike.”

Given this new show is based on a book, however, we do have an idea on what it’ll be about. According to LibraryThing, here’s the synopsis for the source material:

In a hospice for the terminally ill, five teenagers, who meet every night to tell each other scary stories, make a pact that the first of them to die must try to contact the others from beyond the grave.

According to one of the stars of the show, Crystal Balint (who also appeared in Midnight Mass), you might want to brush up on other Christopher Pike novels ahead of the Netflix release as well. It’s been reported that other books by the author will be incorporated in The Midnight Club, too.

Along with Balint, The Midnight Club stars horror legend Heather Langenkamp and Midnight Mass alums Samantha Sloyan, Zach Gilford, Robert Longstreet and Matt Biedel.

The Midnight Club release date predictions

Though we now know for sure that The Midnight Club will hit Netflix in 2022, we still don’t know what month. However, we can speculate! The series began filming in March 2021, and according to What’s On Netflix, they wrapped in September 2021.

If post-production takes, let’s say six months, we could very well be looking at a spring 2022 release date for The Midnight Club. Flanagan’s past shows for Netflix — The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manor and Midnight Mass — all debuted around Halloween in time for the spooky season, so here’s to hoping his next project doesn’t take that long.

We’ll be sure to update you once we get a more specific release date for The Midnight Club! In the meantime, you can buy the book right here.

Amid Rising US Fuel Prices, Joe Biden's Message For 'Bragging' Oil CEOs

US Fuel Prices: Rise in fuel prices in US has impacted President Joe Biden’s popularity numbers.

Washington:

President Joe Biden is “frustrated” by big oil CEOs “bragging” about profits when fuel prices are soaring for ordinary Americans, the White House said Tuesday.

A painful hike in the cost of gasoline is spearheading an overall inflation problem and hitting Biden’s popularity ratings.

The White House says that oil companies may be illegally profiteering and has asked the Federal Trade Commission to investigate.

In strong comments to reporters, Press Secretary Jen Psaki questioned why gasoline prices were so high in filling stations when crude oil is trading sharply lower.

“I will say, yes, we’re frustrated. We’re frustrated because you’ve seen a decrease in oil prices. You’ve not seen a decrease in gas” prices, she said. “It doesn’t take an economist — it doesn’t take an oil market expert to recognize that. That doesn’t sound, look or smell right.”

“We see oil company CEOs bragging about the profits they make when gas company prices go up,” Psaki said. “This is a real impact on the American people. It is incredibly frustrating. That’s why the president is so focused on it.”

Last week, Biden took the unusual measure of tapping US strategic oil reserves to pump additional supplies into the market. This was done in coordination with other major consumer countries such as China and India.

Biden’s attempt to calm the fuel markets has had little effect so far. However, news of the potentially dangerous new Omicron Covid-19 variant has sent crude oil prices sharply down.
