After a grand success of Big Little Lies season 1 and season 2, the fans are still in a state of dilemma whether there be another series or was this the end of the popular show of HBO? As the last episode was telecasted on Sunday, the 21st of July, it leaves the viewers eager to find out what happened next.
What does the star-cast get to say?
Although there’s no confirmation of Big Little Lies season 3 by the makers, Nicole Kidman recently revealed to News Corp Australia that she would love to see it return, she says: “I think we would love to do a season three because there are certainly ideas. But we would not do it without all of the same people involved, even the kids.”
The series is based on the Australian author Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name. The series was strictly bound to seven episodes in the beginning but the second season went beyond the events of the book. So the story has to be kept in pace with the extended part in the first place. Dealing with this will require quality time and so the audience has to wait until the next announcement by the crew.
Director David E. Kelly says that there are no plans yet. Thus the mystery persists regarding the future of the series. During the Television Critics Association press tour in February, he said: “I think that it’s one and two, and we like where our closure is at the end of season two, so that will probably be it.” To which Nicole Kidman says: “That’s what you said last time!”
HBO’s president said to the TV Line that he looks forward to working with the cast again but some of the stars are the busiest actresses of Hollywood, so bringing all of them together will not be an easier task until they have a contract signed.
Hence, the question is still up for the viewers, whether or not they will get a comeback of their favorite series?
