Gurugram: A 10-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted in Sector 51 of Gurugram on Monday after the accused lured the victim to his room. The victim was admitted to Civil Hospital and is undergoing treatment.
Police have arrested the 21-year-old accused on Tuesday. The medical examination of the victim has confirmed that the boy was subjected to sodomy.
The victim, a student of Class 5, is a neighbour of the accused. The accused lured the boy to his room at around 9.30 am on Monday when his mother was busy with work.
Police have booked the accused under Section 377 (unnatural offences) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
“The families of the minor boy and the suspect are neighbours. The suspect lives with his mother who works as domestic help in the area. She was in Bihar to meet her ailing brother. He was alone at home at the time of the incident. The accused lured the victim to his room to watch a movie and informed the boy’s parents that he would return the next morning as he was alone, following which he sodomised him,” the report quoted Amit Sharma, Station House Officer (SHO), Sector 50 police station.
Police said when the victim tried to raise an alarm, he was beaten up and threatened with life by the accused.
The matter came to light when the boy came home crying in pain. He narrated his ordeal to his mother who in turn approached police with a complaint.
The boy was admitted to the hospital after he suffered injuries to his private parts. The accused was arrested by police from his friend’s residence in Sector 51.
