Episode 1: The Family Man

Recap: Terrorism had been increasing lately, and it had to be stopped. Three ISIS terrorists get caught by the Indian Coast Guard in the Arabian Sea, close to Kochi.

One of the forces is handed over with the responsibility to make sure that these terrorists are transported to the desired place, safely and soundly, without losing them that too under TASC supervision.

In the meantime, we learn that Dhriti is the beloved daughter of Srikant Tiwari, also known as Manoj, who happens to work for TASC. Dhriti is on the verge of receiving a suspension from school, due to her recent notorious activities.

The ISIS terrorists, as expected, struggle hard to free themselves from the Force’s clutches and leave the scene altogether. When they are in Mumbai, the ISIS personnel indeed try to break free, which results in a shootout called by the Force One.

The scene cuts to Srikant, or Manoj, who actively convinces Moosa to give up and surrender. Moosa is one of the ISIS operatives, and henceforth, he is reluctant to put his hands up just yet. Elsewhere in Pakistan, we see Major Sameer in deep thought.

After much deliberation, he decides to plan out a mission in India one that would be meticulously carried out, so that they can compel India to resort to military actions. And for this great master plan, Sameer sets his eyes on one of the ISIS personnel.

The one who managed to successfully plant a scooter bomb, seeing his quick impulse and brave frontier, Sameer decides to take him on his mission.

Episode 2: Sleepers

Recap: Recollect how in the pilot episode, one of the ISIS personnel planted a scooter bomb; the one Sameer was considering to give an in on his plan to trigger India to resort to military solutions. The same bomb, which was placed by ISIS militants in a two-wheeler near the Black Horse (also known as Kaala Goda) blasts up. People did see it coming, even the security did and tries to infuse it, before it could go off – but to no avail.

Slowly and steadily, the tension and stress, along with the pressure to find whoever planted the bomb keep increasing. Things take a twist when the officers at the TASC find some relevant, yet mysterious tip. They managed to find out a useful piece of information that stated that there were three gamers or rather gaming engineers who were linked to the whole ISIS plan that took place, including the explosion.

As soon as the news is decoded, Srikant decides to hunt them down for good, and arrest them right away. After much scraping and searching and joining the dots together, they get hold of those engineers and arrest them at their company.

After being arrested, Srikant starts to interrogate them hardcore. After much deliberation, cross-questioning, and use of force, they confess that they do suspect someone. But surprisingly, they think it is a student who belongs to Victoria College. However, to everyone’s astonishment, they also admit that they never met this student face to face.
This brings about a huge twist in the plot. you can also try for The Family Man to download for free now.

Recap: After the gaming engineering, students confessed about the dropbox, and them suspecting a student from Victoria College, the officers at  TASC quickly take to their heels and bein investigating the matter. Meanwhile, Karim is in college when he suddenly receives the message that he is needed for an ISIS mission.

Sameer chalks out his master plan and the basis of it. He decides to guide the intelligence of India the wrong way so that he can create chaos and make matters o south.

Meanwhile, Karim receives something at the dropbox and receives it immediately. No sooner does it pick the mysterious thing up from the dropbox, than he comes under the surveillance radar of the police at TASC.

Once he comes under their radar, the cops get to quick work by placing a surveillance camera in Sameer’s room, to find out his daily activities and figure out whether he is involved or not. To their astonishment, they do catch him trying to plan something that involves a floor plan, and a list of guests with their names on it.

However, Karim was ahead of them, as a matter of fact. He already had a hunch that his activities were being monitored and watched by someone. He thus hands over the slip to the TASC without any hesitation.

When the police inspect the list, they find that it was something serious indeed, as Karim was planning an arrangement of a party with two of his friends, where they intended to go to in a van.

They had to be quick and somehow find his whereabouts at the earliest, or they’d have to resort to issuing an order of evacuation at the market which could lead to more chaos and confusion.

Episode 4: Patriots

Recap: Suchitra was meeting Arvid for a new job offer, and they decided to meet at a resto-bar for drinks. However, Srikant starts o suspect his wife, and thinks that she is having an affair with Arvind behind his back.

He tracks her phone down and reaches her location where he catches her with Arvind. When he confronts her about what she was doing there, Suchitra confesses that she was just meeting Arvind for some drinks.

While all of this was going on, in the meantime, TASC was busy cracking codes and putting pieces together. They successfully manage to hack Karim’s pen drive and fish out the location where he was planning his up and coming strike.

On the night when Karim and his friends were going to strike things didn’t go as seamlessly as they had previously planned. The TASC put up numerous hurdles and roadblocks on their path to hinder the whole execution of the plan.

In the moment of it all, one of Karim’s friends started shooting vehemently. This only resulted in all three of them shot down to the ground in the return fire. However, upon interrogation, the cops find out that they were just going to provide beef to the guests, and not to bomb it.

The three of them get branded as terrorists to save TASC’s reputation, however, the real culprit was Sajid. He was also a student at Victoria College and just came out of jail after a tough interrogation. Meanwhile, Srikant comes home drunk and starts to accuse his wife of having an ongoing affair with Arvind.

Episode 5: Pariah

Recap: Finally, in the family man Hindi web series 2019 fifth episode, Sajid schedules a meeting with the ISIS where it is revealed that they want him to be a part of an even greater plan. Full of guilt and shame, he then goes to meet Karim’s girlfriend named Jonali and confirms that Karim wasn’t a terrorist, and apologizes.

Elsewhere, one of the ISIS personnel Moosa seduces the nurse named Mary to get his job done. He does so, and slyly gets hold of her mobile phone and rings up the ISIS. He then informs them that he would be escaping the premises of the hospital in two or three days tops.

In the middle of making love to Mary, he leaves abruptly to go meet Asif. Tables turn when he suddenly murders Asif by forcefully piercing a syringe full of Potassium into his blood, rendering him dead.

Meanwhile, Sajid then prepares himself for his next task, which was to travel to Srinigar to execute Mission Zulfiqar. As a part and parcel of his punishment, Srikant gets briefly transferred to Srinagar to do his job from there. Things get rough as he and Suchitra were already not on very good terms, weren’t talk at all and now distance seemed to set in.

Upon reaching Srinagar, Srikant gets to know from Kulkarni that the reason why he was transferred to Srinigar wasn’t that it was a part of the punishment. It was because an ISIS agent was coming to Srinagar and they needed his help to figure it all out.

Episode 6: Dance of Death

Recap: Flashbacks reveal that Moosa once killed 270 people in Istanbul with the help of nerve gas, and was actually one of Faizan’s top-tier ISIS agents. This was one of the prime reasons why Major Sameer recruits him for Mission Zulfiqar as well.

Mary gets to know the whole truth about how Asif died, but she keeps her lips sealed. Everybody is told that he had a heart attack, and thus they reduce the security levels in the hospital too.

Elsewhere, Srikant starts to flirt with his CO, Saloni Bhatt who is also his former lover. The Srinagar team also happens to monitor terrorist activities going on in Kashmir. Srikant gets suspicious about Moosa being the killer and asks Pasha and Talpade to dig deeper.

The Indian security force gets to know that Basharat was attending a wedding at Baramulla. However, they don’t get allowed to enter as all of them were Pakistanis and they couldn’t practically get in without offending them. The real reason why Basharat was attending the wedding in the first place was that he wanted to meet Sajid, and establish communication with Faizan.

However, Srikant disguises himself and attended the wedding, and identifies Sajid as one of the suspects who was arrested by the Mumbai police. However, Srikant continues to follow Sajid even after he was asked not to by Saloni and Vikram. This results in the army losing track of Basharat and Sajid escaping the wedding leaving them empty-handed.

Meanwhile, Suchitra attends a conference in Lonavla and impresses everyone. Atharv finds a revolver at home and starts toying with it, but hides it under the pillow as soon as he sees Dhriti coming, who just returned from a party late at night.

Episode 9: Fighting Dirty

US intelligence community ‘struggled’ to brief Trump, CIA study says

Although Trump spent substantial time with briefers on a routine basis throughout the transition period, his free-wheeling style and deep mistrust of the intelligence community presented them with “greater challenges” even than President-elect Richard Nixon, who blamed the CIA for his election loss in 1960 and cut the agency out as president, the history found.

The 40-page narrative — a regular update to a CIA book on briefing presidents-elect written by a retired intelligence officer — offers only a few new details but confirms widely reported press accounts of the former President’s approach to intelligence.
It offers an inside window into the intelligence community’s struggle to adjust to a president who was “suspicious and insecure about the intelligence process” and, in the words of former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, prone to “fly off on tangents.” And it narrates how, at every turn, the relationship between the new President and the intelligence community was undermined by the political imbroglio stemming from the Trump campaign’s alleged relationship to Russia.

“Looking back at the Trump transition, one must conclude that the IC achieved only limited success with what had always been its two fundamental goals with the briefing process: to assist the president-elect in becoming familiar with foreign developments and threats affecting US interests with which he would have to deal once in office; and to establish a relationship with the new president and his team in which they understood how they could draw on the Intelligence Community to assist them in discharging their responsibilities,” the history recounts.

‘The system worked, but it struggled.’

The history reports that during the transition period, Trump was typically “pleasant and courteous” during his briefings, which were given by career intelligence officers drawn from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the CIA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the FBI and the Department of State. Together, the team of 14 briefers “comprised the largest and most organizationally diverse group of experts ever deployed for transition briefings of candidates and presidents-elect.”

Even later in his presidency, at moments when Trump was publicly expressing deep frustration with the intelligence community, “briefings continued as usual and Trump’s demeanor during the sessions remained the same,” the history reports.

But as the intelligence community was drawn into the major political dramas surrounding Trump — in particular, the public furor over a dossier compiled by a former British intelligence officer containing purported compromising information on the president-elect that Trump believed had been leaked by the IC — he increasingly lashed out at the intelligence community in public.

According to one previously unreported anecdote, Trump during his second pre-election briefing on Sept. 2, 2016 assured his briefers that “the nasty things he was saying publicly about the intelligence community “don’t apply to you.”

“Trump was like Nixon, suspicious and insecure about the intelligence process, but unlike Nixon in the way he reacted,” the history reads. “Rather than shut the IC out, Trump engaged with it, but attacked it publicly.”

Clapper says Trump was ‘fact-free’

The history also confirms myriad press accounts of Trump’s dissociative style during intelligence briefings.

“The irreconcilable difference, in Clapper’s view, was that the IC worked with evidence,” according to the history. “Trump ‘was fact-free—evidence doesn’t cut it with him,'” according to Clapper.

Trump rarely, if at all, read the daily classified briefing book prepared for him during the transition, according to the lead intelligence analyst responsible for briefing the president-elect.

“He touched it. He doesn’t really read anything,” the history quotes Ted Gistaro, the career CIA analyst tapped for the job. Still, as is typical, the intelligence community tailored the briefing book to the new president, reducing the number and the length of articles. Former Vice President Mike Pence reportedly told briefers to “lean forward on maps.” Clapper agreed with Gistaro, saying “Trump doesn’t read much; he likes bullets.”

Trump would “listen to the key points, discuss them with some care, then lead the discussion to related issues and others further afield,” according to the history.

Unlike previous presidents-elect — and some members of his own national security team — Trump himself received no briefings on the CIA’s covert action programs until several weeks after his inauguration. The history terms this chain of events “a significant departure from the way briefings were handled during the previous two transitions,” but does not offer an explanation.

The history primarily focuses on Trump’s time as a candidate and president-elect, and only briefly covers his relations with the intelligence community during his presidency. It reports that after the 2020 election, Trump’s “PDB” — his presidential daily briefing — continued only for a time.

Trump typically received the PDB twice a week while in office. He was scheduled to resume receiving the PDB on January 6 after a holiday break, the history reveals. But according to an interview with Beth Sanner, Trump’s regular briefer, none were scheduled after the assault on the US Capitol that took place that day.

The history also provides some insight into briefings given to 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, recounting one pre-election intelligence briefing given to Clinton at the FBI field office in White Plains, New York, in August of that year.

“Given all that Clinton was going through related to her handling of personal emails during the campaign, Gistaro regretted that the first question the security officer asked Clinton as she approached the room was whether she had any cell phones with her,” the history recounts. “The Secretary very professionally assured the questioner that she had left her cell phones at home.
