Letter: Is Dvorak on the metro music to China’s ear too?

As I stepped off Hong Kong’s mass transit railway this morning, it was to the stirring strains of Dvorak’s New World Symphony. Is it “foreign interference” to remind MTR management that jazzing up Hong Kong’s new electoral world with a symphony written in joyful response to America and its “wide open spaces” might not be seen as patriotic in Beijing? Especially in a week in which our just opened M+ museum (“Hong Kong wary of dissident’s art appearing at new museum”, Report, March 18) has been told government is on “full alert” to ensure art does not undermine national security.
