Marvel’s Loki episode 2 spoilers follow.

The second episode of Loki‘s solo series on Disney+ has introduced Lady Loki (something we’re approaching with caution at the moment) as the threat to the multiverse that the TVA and ‘our’ Loki has to deal with.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other press at the Loki press launch, Lady Loki actress Sophia Di Martino explained that she was actually surprised to be cast in the role, saying: “I was nine months pregnant when they told me they had the job, so I was kind of like ‘Are you sure?'”

Even though they play enemies on the show, Sophia said that Tom Hiddleston was lovely to her on set.

“If you want to know anything about Loki he’s the guy obviously,” she said. “Lots of advice and he just really looked after me, so thanks. He made sure I didn’t trip over anything and made sure I had someone to sit next to at lunchtime.”

Meanwhile, Tom teased that there will be even more surprises in store as the season unfolds.

“Expect the unexpected, Loki is always full of surprises, you never know what he’s going to do next,” he said.

Loki’s head writer Michael Waldron is also working on a Star Wars movie with Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, and recently spoke about the direction he wants to take the franchise in.

Loki is streaming exclusively on Disney+, with new episodes every Wednesday.
