Mumbai’s health infrastructure is seeing a decline; Only 87 ICU beds are available

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray chaired an all-party meet yesterday to decide an action plan to curb COVID19 in the state. While Uddhav Thackeray hinted at a complete lockdown as one of the options, he will meet task force members today to take a final decision. Amid the second wave of Covid19, Mumbai’s health infrastructure is seeing a decline. While Mumbai has only 30 ventilator beds left, including every COVID facility across the city, only 87 ICU beds are available. India reported 1,52,879 new COVID19 cases, 90,584 discharges, and 839 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total cases stand at 1,33,58,805, Total recoveries at 1,20,81,443, the Active cases are at 11,08,087 and the Death toll stands at 1,69,275. Whereas, the total vaccination stands at 10,15,95,147.
