Music in the Park to return in April, begin arts events in Smithville

She will again perform on April 8 during this year's series at Railroad Park. Smithville residents make their way out to the park to enjoy live music, good food and cool drinks.

Free, arts-focused programming is slated to return to Smithville in April with the city’s Music in the Park series at Railroad Park.

This will be the fourth year for the Music in the Park series, which will take place in the gazebo and surrounding area at James H. Long Railroad Park at the end of Main Street.

Smithville Chamber of Commerce Executive Director April Daniels said the event is an opportunity to highlight local musicians and the city’s Central Business District, while also reintroducing residents to public gatherings as the number of people who have received the coronavirus vaccine continues to increase.

“We’re excited that people are getting their vaccines and that things are opening back up for our businesses and for our communities,” Daniels said. “We’re doing all of that and encouraging people to remain safe, but come out and enjoy our beautiful town and get back involved. It’s a really nice, fun, family-friendly thing to do outside while headed Downtown and enjoying the outdoors.”
