FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA21) – While it won’t be a statewide requirement to wear a mask starting Wednesday, staff, patients and visitors will still be asked to wear masks inside all Parkview Health buildings.

Parkview Health also said folks coming to get their shot at the COVID-19 vaccine clinic at the Parkview Mirro Center will also need to wear a mask.

“Parkview still strongly encourages the use of masks in public settings. Until more individuals are vaccinated, masks are one of the best tools we have to reduce the spread of COVID-19,” Parkview Health said in an emailed statement.

On April 6, the day after the final game of the men’s NCAA March Madness tournament, Hoosiers will no longer be required to wear masks in most instances.

However, face coverings will remain mandatory in all state buildings, at vaccination clinics and at COVID testing sites.

Masks and other COIVD-19 restrictions will remain in place at K-12 schools through the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year.

The governor says wearing a mask in public when social distancing isn’t possible is strongly encouraged.

Despite the mask order being lifted, local governments, businesses, universities and other entities can still require masks and other health restrictions.
