Another trailer has dropped for Ryan Reynolds’ new movie Free Guy, and it reveals an unexpected second character played (partially) by Reynolds.

The movie sees Reynolds star as Guy, a non-player character (NPC) in an open world video game called Free City who becomes self-aware.

Posted to Reynolds’ personal YouTube account, the new trailer shows Reynolds also appear as Dude, another character that gets dropped into the game by the developers, seemingly to stop Guy as he tries to make himself the game’s hero.

Dude appears to be based on Reynolds himself, having played Deadpool in the Marvel movie and mentioning he is married to Blake Lively.

The action-comedy also stars Killing Eve‘s Jodie Comer and Stranger Things‘ Joe Keery as the programmers who make Guy self-aware. Comer’s character teams up with Guy inside the game to try and reform it. Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit, Thor: Ragnarok) stars as the game’s publisher who is trying to stop them.

Waititi creates Dude with his team, calling him “perfect”. IMDb lists bodybuilder-turned-actor Aaron W Reed as Dude in the cast list, but it seems Reed only plays Dude from the neck-down.

There will also reportedly be cameos from Hugh Jackman, John Krasinski, Tina Fey and Dwayne Johnson, alongside a number of famous gamers and streamers. Plus, it will feature a posthumous appearance from the late Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek.
