“They changed the character to suit me”

Ma Dong-seok has opened up about how he ended up being cast in the latest Marvel film, Eternals.

In a new interview with Rolling Stone Korea, the Korean-American actor – known for roles in South Korean movies such as Train To Busan, The Outlaws and more – spoke about what it was like to make his Hollywood debut in Eternals and the process which led him to being a part of the film.

Train To Busan was a global sensation,” he said. “The people at Marvel watched me in The Outlaws, The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil and Champion and requested me for a casting.”

“After that, I was busy with my life until I received a phone call. It was [casting director] Sarah Finn saying, ‘There’s a character perfect for you in a Marvel movie called Eternals. Come take a look’,” he added, noting that he knew the character of Gilgamesh would be “perfect” for him.

Ma then spoke about how Eternals director Chloé Zhao and Marvel had worked together to modify the character for him. “In fact, Gilgamesh isn’t even an Asian character. They changed the character to suit me,” he said. “They knew that I had boxed for a long time, so they changed the action to hand-to-hand combat. I was really touched that they were so considerate and made the character to fit me.”

Elsewhere during the interview, the actor also touched on what being a South Korean actor in a Hollywood film meant for a global audience. “It’s no longer shocking for an Asian actor to be cast into a Hollywood film,” he said. “But I think my situation is unique because I’m taking on the role of an action hero.”

In other news, Zhao has spoken about why she cast Harry Styles in Eternals. “I kept tabs on Harry since Dunkirk, I thought he was very interesting,” she told Deadline. “After meeting him I realised he is that character – the same way I cast the rest of my cast.”

Free Disney Plus streams will soon be much harder to watch online

Disney Plus recently celebrated its second birthday, and in a short space of time the Netflix and Prime Video rival has built up an impressive library. From this year’s hugely talked about WandaVision, to The Mandalorian and the recently released Dopesick – Disney Plus has plenty of exclusive shows you can only access on the streaming service. But anyone hoping to avoid paying the £7.99 per month subscription fee by accessing an illegal free stream of one of Disney Plus’s many shows need to be aware this could soon become more difficult.

That is because Disney is looking to strengthen its anti-piracy team to help with the ongoing battle against illegal streams and downloads.

As reported by TorrentFreak, the entertainment giant is looking to hire a new recruit who will analyse and track the latest piracy trends – which could mean Disney are a few steps ahead of those that try to access paid-for content illegally.

The successful candidate will also have to help with enforcements efforts and evaluate new anti-piracy tools.

The new hire will need to be willing to work evenings and weekends as well, seeing as the battle against online piracy never sleeps. They will carry out their work from Disney’s office in California.

Disney began advertising for the role – which is a Digital Media Antipiracy Analyst – earlier this week.

The job spec for the role says: “This position will be part of a team that is responsible for providing antipiracy services with a focus on combating online piracy.

“Duties of this position include supporting enforcement of films, television shows and live events, researching piracy technologies, websites, and apps, tracking piracy data, providing regular reports on piracy trends, evaluating prospective providers of antipiracy services and managing existing providers”.

The latest Disney anti-piracy news comes as dozens of popular streaming website and torrent download portals – which offered illegal access to Disney Plus, Netflix and Prime Video content – have now been banned in the UK.

These sites, which were used by millions of people, can no longer be accessed in Blighty after the Motion Picture Association (MPA) obtained a new blocking injunction.

Disney is a member of the MPA, along with Netflix, and anyone that visits the offending websites will now be greeted with a message saying a High Court order prevents access to it.

Here are the list of piracy sites which can no longer be accessed in the UK…,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and

OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 10 release date, specifications and everything else we know so far

  • The OnePlus 10 series is expected to launch as early as January next year.
  • This will be OnePlus’ upcoming flagship smartphone series.
  • Here’s a look at what we know about the OnePlus 10 series so far.

OnePlus is expected to launch its next flagship smartphone series ‘OnePlus 10’ soon. At least two smartphones are more or less confirmed according to multiple leaks and rumours — OnePlus 10 and
OnePlus 10 Pro. There’s no official announcement or teaser yet but we already have quite a lot of information from leaks and rumours.

Here’s what to expect from the upcoming
OnePlus flagship-

OnePlus 10 launch date

OnePlus usually launches its flagship smartphones sometime around April, and the same is expected for the OnePlus 10 series. But this time we could see an early launch for the OnePlus 10 series in January 2022. This will however be a China launch, and the global event will take place in March or April.

OnePlus 10 design

The OnePlus 10 Pro could go through some serious design change at least in the camera department if leaks are to be believed. The most distinct change would be the large triple camera setup at the back which takes up almost one half of the phone. There are three sensors along with the LED flash in a flat but very large square-shaped camera module. These are only what rumours and leaked renders have revealed so the final design might be more appealing.

The regular OnePlus 10 smartphone could continue with a similar design as its predecessors. Some leaks also suggest both the OnePlus 10 and 10 Pro will look quite similar to the OnePlus 9 series.

OnePlus 10 display

Leaked renders also reveal a curved edge-to-edge display on the OnePlus 10 Pro with a punch-hole camera for selfies. In terms of specs, the smartphone is said to feature a 6.7-inch QHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There are no details yet on the OnePlus 10’s display.

OnePlus 10 camera

Going by the leaks and renders, the OnePlus 10 series is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup with the Hasselblad branding. As for the specs, the OnePlus 10 Pro is rumoured to sport a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. For selfies, it will feature a 32-megapixel front camera. This is the same camera setup that is available on the OnePlus 9 Pro which means that we might not see an upgrade.

Processor, battery and storage

A very recent leak suggests the OnePlus 10 Pro will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset. It is also said to be one of the first phones launching with this chipset along with Xiaomi and Motorola. The smartphone is also rumoured to pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 125W fast charging support which would be a first and a major upgrade.

We can expect the OnePlus 10 series to launch in at least two configurations of 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage and 12GB RAM plus 256GB storage.

OnePlus 10 software

The OnePlus 10 series will launch with the new OxygenOS 12 which is a unified version of the software with Oppo’s ColorOS. Following the two companies’ merger, a new OS was announced and while OnePlus assured that it would continue delivering the light and clean OxygenOS experience, reviews suggest otherwise.
