LOOKS like the 1980s Back-to-the-Future franchise has officially caught up with 2018’s fashion trends.
Yes Nike have officially launched their futuristic self-lacing trainers inspired by everybody’s favourite red leather jacket-clad movie hero, Marty McFly.
Taking huge steps forward in the fashion footwear world (pun totally intended), these are the worlds first self-lacing shoes.
While Nike first bought the rights to the concept back in 2009, it’s taken an entire eight years for the movie-mad designers to make their Back to the Future film fantasy a reality.
Relying on sewn-in sensors, Nike’s super-savvy technology works to automatically tighten once the shoes are put on and therefore eradicates the need to tie your laces.
Talk about taking your 80s movie obsession to the next level…
- Pure Platinum HyperAdapt trainers, £619.95 from Nike –
But while the latest HyperAdapts 1.0 are set to take the fashion world by storm, they come at a hefty price.
Each pair of trainers in the range are selling for just under £620 a pop.
Definitely not the most teenage-friendly price-tag. We can’t imagine Marty’s wages could have stretched that far.
Unless Doc travelled back and forth in time to secure him a pair, of course.
