Skepta’s been teasing his retirement from music – Music News

Is Skepta about to bow out of the music game?

The grime vet was trending on the weekend after he posted comments about his new track ‘Dimension’.

Fans are thinking we might be one final track away from the British grime fave from calling time on his career.

If so, it would be a damn shame. Speculation kicked off over the weekend, when Skepta posted about his recent collaboration with Nigerian artist Rema and JAE5, ‘Dimension’.

Letting fans know that ‘Dimension’ was actually recorded last year, Skepta added that he’s got one more collab in the chamber and then…that’s it.

“I have one more song with Bando & L’s that we also recorded in 2020, after we drop that, I’m out.” he said. “Any verses you hear of mine this year, were all recorded last year. I’ve stopped recording [in] 2021.”

Skepta hasn’t released a record of his own since 2019’s Ignorance Is Bliss, following on from a string of successful 2018 releases – including his A$AP Rocky collaboration, ‘Praise the Lord (Da Shine)’. Last year though, Skepta released a full length collab album in Insomnia with Chip and Young Adz.
