”Thalaivi” trailer: Kangana Ranaut wonderfully presents the journey of Jayalalithaa | Telugu Movie News

The makers of ”Thalaivi” released the trailer of the movie on Tuesday, which tickled the fancy of netizens in no time. Directed by Vijay, the film tracks the glorious journey of legendary actor-politician Jayalalithaa (Thalaivi) in films and politics. Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut plays Jayalalithaa in the film while Arvind Swami looks fabulous in the role of matinee idol MG Ramachandran.

The trailer of ”Thalaivi” gives a sneak peek of Jayalalithaa’s life, right from her early days, to becoming an actor and then the chief minister. The trailer is high on drama and betrayal and portrays the life of the politician after she enters the politics of Tamil Nadu. The trailer also shows how Jayalalithaa decided to stand for the people and why she joined politics. In Vijay’s ”Thalaivi”, the lead actor Kangana Ranaut has managed to strike an uncanny resemblance to Jayalalithaa, not just in her attire but also in her physical appearance and mannerisms.

The trailer is strong on dialogues where Samuthirakani as RM Veerappan and Kangana as Jayalalithaa are shown engaging in a war of words. Director Vijay has also recreated the infamous incidents, where Jayalalithaa has been insulted and publicly humiliated by the family members of MGR. The trailer ends with Jayalalithaa elected as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Kangana Ranaut is extremely convincing as Jayalalithaa – the famous South actress and CM of Tamil Nadu.

Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta, Poorna, Madhoo, Bhagyashree, Raj Arjun, Vidya Pradeep and Nassar are other characters in the film, which has music by GV Prakash Kumar. The biopic, which was simultaneously shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu will release on April 23, 2021. ”Thalaivi” is produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shailesh R Singh under the banner of Vibri Media in association with Karma Media And Entertainment, Gothic Entertainment and Spirit Films. KV Vijayendra Prasad has penned the script for the film. Vishal Vittal is taking care of cinematography, while Anthony and Ballu Saluja are in charge of editing.

Born as Jayaram Jayalalithaa, she joined the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), a Dravidian party founded by MG Ramachandran. She served six times as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for over fourteen years (between 1991 and 2016). She featured in over 140 films and won several prestigious awards as an actor as well as a politician.
