The plot of the film revolves around the story of two villages, Upri and Bairi, who have different ways of dealing with things. While Upri does not have hard-working people, it has not been able to deal with its water crisis and hence, the people of the village face water scarcity. On the other hand, Bairi is a village full of hard-working people, who have successfully dealt with their water problems. The title of the film is a pun that plays a great role in delivering the crux of it – the idiom ‘kaun kitney paani mein’, refers to how capable a person is, and also plays at the water situation of the two villages which was a result of its citizens’ capabilities.
