reports that Emerald Fennell has been hired to write a Zatanna movie from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions. The plan is reportedly to release the movie in theaters.
Fennell was a writer and executive producer on Killing Eve and played Camilla Parker-Bowles in Season 3 of The Crown. Fennell rose to fame in 2020 with the release of her feature-length directorial and writing debut, Promising Young Woman, which isand BAFTAs.IGN confirmed in 2020 that . Zatanna is part of the original team, but there’s no confirmation at this time that the Zatanna movie and the Justice League Dark projects are related. .
Zatanna previously made it to the big screen as a cameo in Teen Titans Go! to the Movies and in live-action on the series Smallville played by Serinda Swan. The character most recently popped up in the direct-to-video movie Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, where the character is played by Camilla Luddington.
The character was introduced in the comic Hawkman #4 in 1968 by writer Gardner Fox and artist Murphy Anderson. Zatanna is a stage magician who, along with her family, has real powers including teleportation, flying, and the ability to heal.
